OPPO develops new 6.35-inch smartphone with wide-format flat screen
OPPO is planning a new smartphone line featuring a 6.35-inch flat display, with the initial model positioned as a high-end flagship.
Reports suggest that OPPO is preparing to launch a new line of smartphones characterized by a 6.35-inch wide, flat display. The first device in this category is intended for the premium flagship market, while subsequent models are expected to branch into thin, photography-focused variants.
Technical details indicate a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, a 2560x1440p resolution, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The design is reported to utilize LIPO (Low-frequency Integrated Pixel Optimization) technology to achieve bezels measuring approximately 1mm, aiming for a full-screen experience for media consumption.
Industry tracking indicates that OPPO is likely to lead the Android market in adopting this wide-flat design, with competitors such as Honor expected to follow. A broader market shift toward this form factor is projected to occur between late 2027 and early 2028 as manufacturers expand their lineups.
