OPPO's legal department announced on July 10th that an internet user has been subjected to administrative penalties for maliciously spreading false information regarding the quality of the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone. The company reported the individual to the police, who subsequently investigated the claims.

The accused user allegedly disseminated untrue statements across multiple social media platforms, including Douyin, Kuaishou, and Weibo. OPPO stated that these actions misled the public and severely damaged the company's brand reputation. The company emphasized its commitment to protecting its legal rights.

Following the police investigation, the user's actions were found to be in violation of Article 29, Item 1 of the Law on Administrative Penalties, specifically concerning the intentional spread of rumors and disturbance of public order. The individual was consequently issued a fine and administrative detention.

OPPO thanked law enforcement for their impartial execution of duty and reiterated that the internet is not beyond legal boundaries. The OnePlus Ace 3, launched in January 2024, is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
