Opto GmbH Expands to USA with New California Office

Opto GmbH, a German manufacturer of imaging modules, has expanded its operations into North America by opening a new sales office in Southern California in July 2025. This expansion marks a strategic move for the company as it aims to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market.

The office will be led by Thomas Spieker, who has been appointed as the managing director for the U.S. operations. Spieker, a biologist with a doctorate, brings 25 years of experience in the American microscopy market. His responsibilities will include supporting distribution partners and key accounts, as well as strategically developing the company's core business of imaging modules.

These imaging modules represent an intelligent combination of camera, lighting, and optics, and their development is central to Opto GmbH's expertise. The new office is expected to facilitate closer collaboration with American clients and partners, thereby supporting the company's growth objectives.

Operating under the name Opto Microscopy Solutions Inc., the new entity is based in California and aims to significantly enhance customer service and support within the U.S. market. Opto GmbH anticipates this expansion will be a key driver for its business growth in North America.
