Oracle Introduces New Oncology EHR System

Oracle Health has launched its new Oracle Health Oncology EHR system. The solution is purpose-built for the demands of cancer care, intending to improve care team workflows by consolidating patient information, AI-driven tools, and clinical insights.

The system seeks to unify the patient's care journey from diagnosis through follow-up, offering personalized treatment recommendations and reducing the burden on clinicians for data compilation. It integrates oncology-specific workflows and connects data from multiple sources.

Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences, highlighted the system's goal of easing the workload for care teams. "Care teams should not be slowed down by fragmented information and antiquated technology," Verma stated. The new EHR provides an integrated view of the patient's story and supports individualized treatment plans.

The system incorporates embedded AI assistants and clinical decision support tools to help care teams navigate the complexities of cancer treatment. It offers an intuitive experience for both outpatient and inpatient settings, linking results, decision support, and actions.

Oracle intends to expand the system's capabilities to encompass the needs of nurses, patients, and broader multidisciplinary cancer care teams. The objective is to create a connected ecosystem where information flows seamlessly, maintaining context throughout the patient's care journey.
