OrbiMed Raises $3 Billion for Healthcare Funds

Healthcare investment firm OrbiMed announced it has secured $3 billion in capital commitments for two new private equity funds. The OrbiMed Private Investments X fund raised over $1.9 billion for life sciences venture capital investments in the U.S. and Europe.

The OrbiMed Asia Partners VI fund raised over $1 billion for healthcare growth capital and venture capital investments in Asia. Both funds aim to build leading healthcare companies focusing on biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and technology-enabled healthcare services.

OrbiMed operates with a team of over 150 professionals and 20 partners across 12 global offices. The firm's investors include a diverse range of institutional entities such as university endowments, foundations, and pension funds.

The firm currently manages over $21 billion in assets. OrbiMed invests globally across the healthcare sector, from startups to large multinational corporations, employing private equity, public equity, and royalty/credit strategies.
