OrcaRouter launches free Bring Your Own Key feature for developers
OrcaRouter has introduced Free BYOK, a feature allowing developers to use their own API keys with OrcaRouter's adaptive routing and failover infrastructure at no additional platform cost.

San Francisco – OrcaRouter, an AI model gateway platform, has launched its Free BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) feature. This allows developers to utilize OrcaRouter's intelligent routing and automatic failover capabilities while using their own API keys for AI models, without incurring additional platform fees.
The new offering enables developers to maintain their existing relationships and billing arrangements with model providers. Simultaneously, they gain a unified API for managing requests across multiple models, providers, and credentials. Traffic can be routed through the developer's own keys, OrcaRouter's platform keys, or a combination of both.
"Developers should not have to choose between controlling their provider accounts and accessing production-grade routing infrastructure," said FY Tian at OrcaRouter. "Free BYOK gives teams the flexibility to use their own keys while benefiting from the same failover and adaptive-routing capabilities available across the OrcaRouter platform."
As AI applications increasingly rely on multiple model providers, operational challenges such as outages, rate limits, and credential management become more complex. OrcaRouter aims to simplify this by providing a single API, reducing the need for custom code for error handling and switching between models and providers.
