Orchard Estate of Woodbury Associate Receives Assisted Living Industry Award

Arturo Gonzalez, a maintenance technician at Orchard Estate of Woodbury, has received an Empire State Association of Assisted Living (ESAAL) All-Stars Award. Gonzalez was recognized in the Direct Care/Front Line Non-Manager category, which honors assisted living associates who demonstrate exceptional dedication to residents, families, and their communities.

The award acknowledges Gonzalez's consistent effort to go above and beyond in his role. He is noted for his positive attitude and willingness to assist, whether addressing urgent repairs or lending support where needed. His commitment was highlighted by a recent incident where he spent hours resolving a late-night plumbing emergency before returning early the next morning to assist residents and staff.

"Arturo represents the very best of what it means to serve our residents," said Doug Cormack, executive director of Orchard Estate of Woodbury. "He takes tremendous pride in his work, but what makes him truly special is the way he approaches every situation with kindness, patience and a genuine desire to help. Whether he's responding to an urgent need or taking care of the small details that make our community feel like home, our residents and associates know they can always count on him."

As part of the community's plant operations team, Gonzalez contributes to creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Orchard Estate of Woodbury, a Benchmark Assisted Living and Mind & Memory Care community, opened in 2019 and has received multiple recognitions for its care and resident experiences.
