Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX Venture: ORS) announced initial assay results from its Francisca Gold Project in Salta Province, Argentina. The company reports that the Phase I exploration program, which involved resampling existing trenches, has identified significant gold and silver grades at surface.

The T8 trench returned intervals of 23.47 metres grading 4.71 g/t gold and 28.54 g/t silver, with a sub-interval of 6.26 metres grading 12.31 g/t gold and 92.40 g/t silver. Additionally, the T7 trench yielded 36.97 metres grading 0.78 g/t gold and 7.20 g/t silver.

Geological mapping indicates a stockwork system ranging from 40 to 70 metres wide along a strike length of 400-500 metres. This system consists of highly altered host rocks cut by dense veinlets and veins containing gold and silver mineralization.

Orestone plans to compile these results to prepare for a Phase I drilling program aimed at testing this large gold target. The company's objective is to define an open-pit mineable gold-silver deposit at the Francisca project.
