Oriental Land Increases Investment in LEIFRAS

Oriental Land Innovations has increased its financial stake in Tokyo-based technology firm LEIFRAS, a move that reclassifies the company as an equity method affiliate. The transaction follows a period of deepening cooperation between the two organizations.

LEIFRAS, which is listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market, specializes in technology solutions that have drawn interest from Oriental Land, best known for its theme park operations. By shifting the partnership to an equity method affiliate, the firms plan to streamline collaborative business development efforts.

Kiyotaka Ito, CEO of LEIFRAS, confirmed the transaction marks a transition in the corporate relationship. The move allows Oriental Land to exercise greater oversight and influence over future joint ventures while integrating LEIFRAS’s technological capabilities into broader business operations.
