ORing Launches New Railway Network Equipment

Taiwanese industrial networking specialist ORing Industrial Networking has launched its next-generation IRoN series of railway Ethernet switches at InnoTrans 2026. The company, with 20 years of market experience, aims to provide reliable and secure onboard networks for increasingly connected rail systems.
The new switches are designed to manage critical control communications alongside video surveillance and passenger information, often within the same infrastructure. ORing states that its networking products have been implemented in passenger and freight rail projects across Europe, the United States, and Asia, highlighting the company's focus on reliability, interoperability, and ease of integration.
The IRoN series offers features such as Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), 10GbE connectivity, and PoE++ power delivery, depending on the configuration. These options simplify cabling and device management while maintaining the performance and predictability required for time-sensitive rail communications. The selectable configurations allow operators to adapt to evolving needs and incorporate additional services.
Security is integrated into the design, with the IRoN series being developed to meet IEC 62443-4-2 security level 2 requirements and anticipating certification. The development also considers the EU Cyber Resilience Act. ORing also showcased a power-controlled device that responds to vehicle start and stop signals.
