OSCP Secures Series A Funding to Scale Photonic IMU Production
Montreal-based OSCP has closed its Series A financing round, led by New Science Ventures. The funding will be used to scale production of its ITAR-free photonic inertial measurement units.

OSCP, a technology company based in Montreal, has announced the successful closure of its Series A financing round. The round was led by venture capital firm New Science Ventures, with participation from Emerging Ventures and 2050 Capital. OSCP specializes in photonic gyroscopes and inertial measurement units (IMUs) designed for environments where Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are jammed or unavailable.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its production capacity in Montreal, grow its engineering and sales teams, and bring its next-generation photonic inertial sensors to market. OSCP CEO Kazem Zandi highlighted the increasing demand for reliable navigation solutions that do not depend on GNSS signals, especially as such disruptions extend beyond traditional conflict zones.
Somu Subramaniam, founder and managing partner of New Science Ventures, will join OSCP's board of directors. He stated that the company's IMUs have the potential to significantly alter the paradigm of autonomous navigation across defense and transportation sectors by improving performance, size, and cost.
OSCP's photonic technology offers tactical-grade accuracy with a size, weight, power, and cost comparable to MEMS technology. Their sensors are utilized in aerospace, defense, marine, rail, and robotics applications. The company emphasizes that its products are manufactured in Canada and are ITAR-free.
