OSCP Secures Series A Funding to Scale Photonic IMU Production
Montreal-based OSCP has closed a Series A funding round led by New Science Ventures. The capital will be used to scale production of the company's ITAR-free photonic inertial measurement units.

Montreal-based technology firm OSCP announced today the closure of its Series A financing round. The round was led by New Science Ventures, with participation from Emerging Ventures and 2050 Capital. The company intends to use the new capital to scale production of its photonic gyroscopes and inertial measurement units (IMUs) in Montreal.
OSCP manufactures devices designed for navigation when GPS signals are jammed or unavailable, a critical capability as the reliance on satellite positioning grows. According to founder and CEO Kazem Zandi, the demand for such technology is increasing, as GNSS signal loss is no longer confined to declared conflict zones.
The funding will enable OSCP to expand its engineering and sales teams and bring its next generation of photonic inertial sensors to market. The company emphasizes that its products are ITAR-free, facilitating wider adoption.
Somu Subramaniam, founder and managing partner at New Science Ventures, will join OSCP's board of directors. He believes the company's technology has the potential to transform autonomous navigation in defense and transportation sectors. In recent months, OSCP has introduced its NavigationGate inertial navigation system and an open-source ROS 2 driver for its MK2 IMU family.
