Osteopathic Association Convenes Annual Conference in Las Vegas
The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) is gathering osteopathic physicians, medical students, and healthcare leaders in Las Vegas for OMED26, a conference marking the profession's growth.

The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) will convene its annual Osteopathic Medical Education Conference (OMED26) at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from October 22-25, 2026. The event brings together osteopathic physicians, medical students, and healthcare professionals.
The conference takes place as the profession reaches a record size, with over 218,000 DOs and osteopathic medical students reported by the AOA in 2026. The theme, "Your Career. Your Path. Your OMED," allows attendees to tailor their experience to their professional development goals. OMED offers more than 200 hours of educational programming, with opportunities to earn up to 60 CME credits in person. An on-demand option will be available through December 31.
Key highlights include a keynote address by Olympian Chaunté Lowe. A panel discussion titled "Coffee and Conversations: Putting Patients First" will feature physician leaders from various healthcare organizations, including CVS Health and Rush University System for Health. The conference also includes live medical simulations and a residency fair connecting students with training programs nationwide.
"OMED is a unique experience where the osteopathic profession comes together to learn from one another and strengthen the whole-person approach to care," said Richard R. Thacker, DO, MACOI, President of the AOA. The event will also honor award recipients within the profession.
