Otter.ai secures $320 million in growth financing from General Catalyst

Transcription software firm Otter.ai has obtained $320 million in funding from General Catalyst to accelerate international expansion and enterprise adoption.

20 October 2026

Otter.ai, a provider of automated meeting transcription and note-taking software, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $320 million. The funding is sourced from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund (CVF), a financial instrument designed to provide capital based on marketing performance without diluting equity stakes in the company.

The capital injection is slated to support the company’s efforts to scale its enterprise business and refine its go-to-market strategies. Otter.ai currently competes in a crowded market for workplace productivity software, facing pressure from integrated tools developed by established platforms like Microsoft and Zoom.

Beyond domestic growth, the company plans to utilize the funds to facilitate international market entry. This financing arrives as businesses increasingly adopt artificial intelligence tools to manage meeting documentation and post-meeting workflows.
