Outokumpu Avesta Confirms Performance for Stainless Steel Building Products

Outokumpu Oyj's Avesta facility in Sweden has officially released a Declaration of Performance for specific grades of hot or cold rolled stainless steel sheet, plate, and coil. This documentation, prepared in accordance with the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR), confirms that the stainless steel products meet the required performance criteria for use in building and civil engineering projects.

The declaration identifies the product type as EN 1.4301, with the harmonized technical specification being EN 10088-4:2009. Outokumpu Stainless AB's Avesta Works is listed as the manufacturer. The intended use is explicitly stated for construction product applications.

Key performance characteristics are detailed, including dimensional tolerances, yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and impact energy. For cold-rolled products, the yield strength is declared at a minimum of 230 MPa, with tensile strength ranging from 540-750 MPa. Both hot and cold-rolled variants are noted for their weldability, durability, and cold formability, which are proven by their chemical composition and mechanical properties.

The conformity of factory production control has been verified by TÜV NORD Systems GmbH & Co. KG (identification number 0045) under System 2+. This declaration of performance was issued under the sole responsibility of Outokumpu Stainless AB and signed by Senior Vice President Pål Äström on October 10, 2012.
