Outokumpu leadership changes as Jehl appointed head of Europe business

Outokumpu Oyj, a global leader in stainless steel, has announced changes to its leadership team with the appointment of Matthieu Jehl as President of the Europe business area, starting August 1, 2026. Jehl, who joined the company's leadership team in 2025, most recently served as President of the Stainless Europe business line.

The company is consolidating its Stainless Europe and Advanced Materials business lines under a single leadership structure for the Europe business area. Outokumpu states this organizational change aims to enhance customer focus, strategic alignment, and the execution of growth initiatives. The move is intended to strengthen the foundational stainless steel business through greater efficiency and create organizational synergies, while accelerating transformative growth in high-nickel alloys within Advanced Materials.

As part of this transition, Rolf Schencking, who previously led the Advanced Materials business line, will be leaving Outokumpu to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Outokumpu CEO Kati ter Horst expressed appreciation for Schencking's contributions and wished Jehl success in his new role.

Matthieu Jehl, a French national based in Germany, will continue to report to Outokumpu President and CEO Kati ter Horst. This organizational realignment supports the next phase of Outokumpu's EVOLVE strategy and its ambitions for growth in advanced materials.
