Outokumpu releases datasheet for its Core stainless steel range

Outokumpu Oyj, a global stainless steel producer, has released an updated datasheet for its "Outokumpu Core range" product portfolio. This range includes various stainless steel grades intended for applications in corrosive environments and general-purpose use in indoor and mild outdoor conditions.

The datasheet outlines the chemical compositions and mechanical properties of steels such as the widely used Core 304/4301 and Core 304L/4307, alongside other austenitic and ferritic options, including low-nickel and nickel-free variants. The materials are engineered with features like titanium and niobium additions for improved weldability and formability, or enhanced corrosion resistance through molybdenum content.

These stainless steels find application in a broad spectrum of industries, including household appliances, kitchen equipment, architectural elements for indoor and outdoor use, and processing equipment for the food and beverage sectors. Grades are specified based on their suitability for different conditions, with low-carbon variants like Core 304L/4307 offering improved resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.

Outokumpu offers the Core range products in various forms, such as cold and hot-rolled coil and plate, as well as precision strip.
