Outokumpu Technology to Supply Silver Refinery to Krasnoyarsk
Outokumpu Technology has signed a contract with JSC Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals Plant (KNFMP) for the delivery of a silver refinery. The facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2007.

Outokumpu Technology has agreed with JSC Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals Plant (KNFMP) to deliver a silver refinery installation to Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. This technology transfer contract covers engineering and critical equipment for the new facility, which will be integrated into what is described as the world's largest platinum group metals refinery.
The new silver refinery installation is expected to be operational by the end of 2007. KNFMP aims to strengthen its position in global precious metals refining through the selection of Outokumpu Technology's processes.
Igor Tikhov, General Director of KNFMP, stated that choosing state-of-the-art technology from a recognized supplier is key to enhancing their global leadership in precious metals refining. He noted familiarity with Outokumpu Technology's similar plants in Russia and Kazakhstan.
Outokumpu Technology reported that five out of the world's ten largest silver producers utilize their processes. This project is seen as further solidifying the company's position as a leader in precious metals technology.
