Outokumpu has launched its EvoMaterials technology platform, aimed at producing low-CO2, high-purity metals. The company is advancing the technology towards pilot-scale production.
Outokumpu has unveiled EvoMaterials®, a proprietary technology platform designed for the production of low-carbon, high-purity metals. The platform is built upon the company's advanced sulfidation-based process technology.
The EvoMaterials technology aims to enhance parameters such as chromium content and the chromium-to-iron ratio in metals. The stated goal is to significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions associated with metal production compared to traditional methods.
Development of the technology is progressing toward pilot-scale production. Outokumpu has not yet disclosed specific timelines or the location for this pilot phase.
