Steel producer Ovako has launched a new digital Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) tool, significantly reducing the time required to generate product-specific environmental data from months to minutes. The company states this is the first tool of its kind.

In its latest sustainability report, Ovako detailed a 59% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared to 2015 levels, aligning with its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045. The report also noted that Ovako's steel products contain 97 percent recycled material.

Earlier in 2026, Ovako completed the sale of its Finnish distribution business, Ovako Metals Oy Ab, to Tibnor, a subsidiary of SSAB. This divestment was aimed at strengthening the company's customer offering within Finland.

Ovako also established a three-year partnership with Swedish discus thrower Daniel Ståhl. The collaboration is presented as a reflection of the Nordic strength, precision, and endurance values associated with the company.
