Overseas markets generate half of revenue for ByteDance’s Seedance
ByteDance’s Seedance video-generation model has seen a surge in international adoption, with revenue from outside China increasing fivefold in the last six months.
Half of the revenue for ByteDance’s Seedance video-generation model now originates from overseas markets, according to a report by the AI publication Zhinen Yongxian. Sources familiar with the company’s cloud division, Volcano Engine, indicate that international earnings have grown nearly fivefold over the past six months.
Domestic demand remains strong as well, with several major Chinese technology firms utilizing the tool. Tencent reportedly ranks among Seedance’s top three customers in China based on token consumption and revenue contribution, while the video platform Bilibili is listed within the top ten.
These figures highlight the increasing enterprise appetite for video-generation technology. While absolute revenue figures were not disclosed, the data suggests that Seedance is becoming a core asset for ByteDance’s enterprise-facing Volcano Engine cloud business.
