Owaves Marks All of Us Program Milestone and Focus on Precision Lifestyle Medicine
Owaves celebrates five years contributing to the NIH All of Us Research Program's digital participant experience. The program has surpassed 747,000 participants, establishing one of the world's largest integrated health databases.

Owaves, Inc. congratulates the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the hundreds of thousands of volunteers behind the All of Us Research Program for reaching a significant milestone. As of a June 30 announcement, the program has surpassed 747,000 participants, growing into what NIH describes as the world's largest integrated health database.
Owaves has contributed to the program for five years, from 2019 to 2024, focusing on the participant-facing digital experience, including design, technology, and innovation. They also supported community engagement through The Participant Center at Scripps Research Translational Institute. Building on this, the company is applying precision medicine principles to everyday life, specifically the timing and structure of daily activities, which are not captured by genetics.
The All of Us program aims to build a research cohort reflecting the diversity of the United States and track participants' health over time, with a majority coming from historically underrepresented communities. Owaves' work involved participant recruitment, engagement, and retention. This included personalized education, multimedia content, and an AI-powered app experience. The company received approximately $5 million in research funding through a subaward with Scripps Research for its contributions.
Owaves' commitment to precision in lifestyle medicine is exemplified by its BodyClock AI™ platform, which offers personalized daily planning. The app has garnered 1.3 million organic downloads and achieved top rankings in Health & Fitness on iPad in over 135 countries. Owaves CEO Royan Kamyar stated that BodyClock AI aims to distill the essential principles of the All of Us program into a widely useful tool for behavior change. Chief Community Officer Gayle Valensky highlighted the importance of trust, community, and thoughtful digital design in reaching and engaging participants.
