OWC Releases USB4 Hub Dock with HDMI 2.1 Port

Other World Computing (OWC) has announced the release of its new USB4 Hub docking station, designed to provide expanded connectivity for Mac, PC, and iPad Pro users. The hub includes a single HDMI 2.1 port capable of outputting up to 4K resolution at 120Hz, or 8K at 60Hz, depending on the connected device's capabilities. With Display Stream Compression (DSC) enabled, it can support refresh rates as high as 240Hz.

The docking station also features three USB4 ports offering 40Gbps data transfer speeds and two USB 3.2 ports operating at 10Gbps. It comes with a dedicated power adapter that can deliver up to 81W of power back to a connected laptop, enabling charging while docked.

Constructed with an aluminum casing, the OWC USB4 Hub incorporates a fanless design, ensuring silent operation. The device is priced at $130.

This new hub addresses the growing need for high-bandwidth, versatile docking solutions, particularly for users working with high-resolution displays and multiple peripherals.
