PACU Foundation Concludes Operations With Final Charity Gifts
The PACU Foundation, the charitable arm of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, has ended its five-year mission by distributing its remaining funds to seven organizations in central North Carolina.

The PACU Foundation, the charitable affiliate of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, has concluded its five-year operation supporting various charities in central North Carolina. In its final act, the foundation distributed its remaining assets among seven previously supported organizations.
Each of the seven beneficiary charities received $10,011. These included the Education Over Debt Foundation, which supports student scholarships, and Help, Incorporated's Square One Family Justice Center, which assists victims of abuse. Other recipients were Mooresville Area Christian Mission, A Storehouse for Jesus, Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, Winston-Salem Street School, and The Women's Resource Center of Greensboro.
Established in 2020, the foundation raised a total of $250,894 through the generosity of Piedmont Advantage members, its employees, businesses, and community supporters. These funds were intended to enhance the capacity of charities to provide financial aid, educational opportunities, and essential services to individuals and families facing financial hardship.
The closure of PACU Foundation aligns with Piedmont Advantage Credit Union's upcoming merger with Truliant Federal Credit Union. Jean Golden-Rumer, President of the PACU Foundation, described the conclusion as "bittersweet, but incredibly meaningful." The foundation's final fundraising event, the Flying Colors Charity 5K and Fun Run, generated $54,754, which included a matching contribution from Truliant.
