Panasonic Industry Launches First Motion Controller GM1
Panasonic Industry has introduced its first motion controller, the GM1, integrating PLC and motion control functions into a single compact device.

Panasonic Industry has launched its first motion controller, the GM1. This new device integrates machine control (PLC) and motion control functions, including positioning and network capabilities, into one compact unit.
The GM1 controller supports synchronized torque control for up to 32 axes. Its space-saving "all-in-one" design reduces cabinet footprint and offers response times as low as 0.5 milliseconds, making it suitable for demanding automation applications.
The unit features dual independent Ethernet ports (Ethernet/IP and Modbus-TCP), an SD memory card slot (up to 32GB), high-speed counters, and PWM outputs. Programming is handled by the GM Programmer tool, based on the Codesys IEC 61131-3 standard, which supports pre-defined Application Function Blocks (AFB) to reduce programming time.
GM1 is specifically designed for motion-critical tasks such as rotary knives, flying shears, labeling, and packaging machines. It is fully compatible with Panasonic Industry's other automation products, including motors, enabling seamless integration into production lines and Industry 4.0 environments via OPC UA connectivity.
