Panasonic releases HG-F laser distance sensor
Panasonic Industry Europe has introduced the new HG-F laser distance sensor, utilizing ToF technology for measurements up to 3 meters. The device enables more flexible installation and object handling in industrial automation applications.

Panasonic Industry Europe has launched the new HG-F laser distance sensor, capable of measuring distances up to three meters using Time of Flight (ToF) technology. This new sensor is designed to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of automation systems in industrial environments.
The HG-F sensor's extended measurement range allows it to be installed at a greater distance from the object being measured. This creates more operational space for personnel or robotic arms, improving safety and workflow. The distance capability also enables the measurement of workpieces with varying heights or larger products on production lines.
Classified as a Class 1 laser, the sensor does not require special protective equipment. Its visible laser beam aids in identifying the measurement position and simplifies setup. A dedicated installation mode amplifies light intensity, making commissioning more straightforward. The narrow laser beam profile allows the sensor to be fitted into tight spaces where traditional optical measurement solutions might not be suitable.
The unit features a compact and robust aluminum diecast housing measuring only 20 x 44 x 25 mm. A digital display and three buttons allow for direct numerical setting of the distance on the sensor itself. Panasonic Industry Europe offers the HG-F sensor as part of its broader range of measurement sensors for industrial automation.
