The city-building simulation game is now available on the new console platform, featuring performance improvements and updated design tools.

28 October 2026

Paradox Interactive has released Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2, effective October 28, 2026. The title is priced at $49 and features technical enhancements specifically designed for the updated hardware architecture of the new console.

The game, originally developed by Colossal Order and ported for this release by Tantalus Media, includes optimized visual fidelity and performance improvements intended to support more complex city-building projects. These updates aim to address the hardware limitations that constrained previous console iterations of the simulation title.

This release represents an effort to maintain the longevity of the long-running simulation franchise by migrating the title to newer hardware ecosystems. The expanded edition includes a refined set of construction tools, allowing for larger city layouts compared to the original console release.

The Expanded Edition is currently available through digital and retail channels, marking the company's first entry into the Nintendo Switch 2 software market.
