Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery complete $111B merger
Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery have completed their $111 billion merger, creating a new entity named Skydance. The deal combines major film studios, streaming services, and media networks.

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery finalized their $111 billion merger today, following the rejection of a last-ditch legal challenge by Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. The transaction creates a new media conglomerate.
The combined company will operate under the name Skydance, adopting the name of a firm Paramount acquired last year. This merger brings together two major film studios, streaming platforms Paramount+ and HBO Max, broadcast networks like CBS, and news channels such as CNN. The new entity also includes live sports broadcasting and an extensive library of content and franchises.
The deal faced delays due to antitrust concerns raised by California and 11 other states. A federal judge had previously ruled that the combination could substantially reduce competition and violate antitrust laws.
This significant consolidation reshapes the media landscape, forming a larger entity with a diverse portfolio spanning film production, television broadcasting, streaming services, and sports.
