Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery Merge to Form Skydance
Paramount SkyDance and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will merge to form a new entity named Skydance. The deal is valued at $110 billion.
Paramount SkyDance CEO David Ellison announced that the combined entity following the merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will be named Skydance. The deal, valued at $110 billion, reached an agreement in February, surpassing Netflix in the bidding process.
The transaction is anticipated to finalize on October 6. This significant media industry consolidation will bring two major film studios, streaming platforms, television networks, and news organizations under a single corporate umbrella.
Upon completion of the merger, David Ellison and former Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz will co-lead the new company. Ellison will continue as Chairman of the Board for the combined entity, with the company's executives reporting to both leaders.
Kreiz's appointment is part of broader executive adjustments. Ellison will assemble the post-merger management team, drawing from both Warner Bros.'s core talent and seasoned executives like Kreiz, to navigate the complex integration process.
