Paris Auto Show Features New Cars Not Destined for the US

The Paris Auto Show held its media day yesterday, showcasing a variety of new automotive debuts that evoke the industry's past exhibition prominence. Notable presentations came from Stellantis brands and Renault.

Auto shows have historically served as key venues for unveiling new models and concept cars. In recent years, however, automakers have increasingly shifted reveals away from these events to private presentations, a trend exacerbated by the pandemic. The Paris show appears to be attempting a return to its traditional role.

Stellantis, with its brands like Citroën, Peugeot, and Fiat, presented several new vehicles. France's Renault is also recognized for its history of striking concept cars. A significant number of the models debuted in Paris are not slated for release in the U.S. market.

While Europe sees the introduction of new, often smaller and electrified models, the U.S. market is set to receive vehicles such as a V8-powered Charger, indicating differing product strategies across regions.
