Paris Court Decision on Angelalign Technology Has Minimal Impact on European Customers

Angelalign Technology Inc. announced that a ruling by the Paris local division of the Unified Patent Court concerning its "Torque Ridges" technology will not affect its offerings in Europe. The company confirmed it has already replaced the feature with an upgraded version of its torque control technology for the European market.

The company stated that it ceased using "Torque Ridges" in Europe and replaced them with the enhanced "Pressure Points" feature, launched in September. This new technology is designed to improve torque control and reflects Angelalign's ongoing commitment to innovation and addressing clinical challenges for orthodontists. The ruling does not impact customers in Spain, the UK, or outside of Europe.

The court ruled that the "Torque Ridges" feature infringed on a patent held by Align Technology Inc. Angelalign has expressed respectful disagreement with the decision and is reviewing its options, but will comply with the ruling, including any product returns. As "Torque Ridges" is no longer offered in Europe, orthodontists can continue treatments with the updated technology.

"Our priority is to ensure orthodontists can continue to provide excellent care to their patients," said Xavier Cherbavaz, General Manager and Vice President for Europe, Africa and the Middle East at Angelalign Technology Inc. "The Torque Ridges technology has already been phased out in Europe and replaced by Pressure Points, designed for controlled force and tooth contact. We remain focused on delivering innovative clinical solutions."
