Paris Court Decision on Feature Removal Has Minimal Impact on Angelalign Clients
Angelalign Technology stated that a decision from the Paris patent court concerning its Torque Ridges feature will not affect its European offering. The company has already transitioned to updated technology.

San Clemente, Calif. – Angelalign Technology Inc. announced on October 18, 2026, that a ruling from the Paris division of the Unified Patent Court concerning its Torque Ridges feature will not impact its European operations.
The court ruled that the Torque Ridges feature infringes on a patent held by Align Technology Inc. for the repositioning of a patient's teeth within an orthodontic treatment plan. However, Angelalign stated that this decision does not affect customers in Europe, as the company has already replaced the feature with an upgraded technology called "Pressure Points" beginning in September.
Angelalign indicated that it respectfully disagrees with the decision and is reviewing its options. "Torque Ridges has already been phased out in Europe and replaced with Pressure Points, an approach designed to support controlled application of orthodontic torque and tooth contact," said Xavier Cherbavaz, General Manager and Vice President for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Angelalign Technology Inc. "Our priority remains to provide orthodontists with innovative clinical solutions and a reliable customer experience."
The company emphasized that its clients in Spain, the United Kingdom, and outside of Europe, including the Americas and Asia, are unaffected by the ruling. Angelalign stated it continues to develop new solutions to serve its customers effectively.
