Paris Court Ruling Has Minimal Impact on Angelalign Customers

Angelalign Technology Inc. (6699.HK) announced Monday that a ruling by the Unified Patent Court's Local Division in Paris concerning its Torque Ridges feature will have minimal impact on its European customers. The company has already replaced the technology with an upgraded version.

The company has replaced the Torque Ridges feature in Europe with an enhanced feature called Pressure Points, launched in September. Angelalign states this new feature is designed to improve torque control and address clinical challenges faced by orthodontists. Customers in Spain, the UK, and outside Europe, including the Americas and Asia, are unaffected by the judicial decision.

The court ruled that the Torque Ridges feature infringes a patent held by Align Technology Inc. Angelalign respectfully disagrees with the decision and is carefully analyzing its grounds. The company stated it will comply with the ruling, which may include the recall of affected products.

Xavier Cherbavaz, General Manager and Vice President for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Angelalign, emphasized that the company's priority is ensuring orthodontists can continue to provide excellent patient care. He added that Pressure Points is designed to facilitate controlled force application and tooth contact. Richard Hirschland, Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President, stated that Angelalign will continue to innovate and enhance its products despite litigation initiated by a competitor.
