Park Street Homes breaks ground on 23-home Legacy Oaks community in Houston

Park Street Homes has marked Juneteenth by breaking ground on Legacy Oaks at Bland Street, a development that will add 23 new single-family homes to Houston's historic Acres Homes neighborhood. The project is a collaboration with the Houston Area Urban League and Citizens Trust Bank.

The community development is framed as a long-term investment in economic opportunity and neighborhood revitalization. The initiative aims to provide affordable single-family housing and foster generational wealth, recognizing the historical significance of the Acres Homes area.

More than 130 community leaders, officials, and stakeholders attended the groundbreaking ceremony. The nearly five-acre site was donated by Cameron Iron Workers and the Charity Social Club. The development seeks to expand access to attainable homeownership while honoring the character and history of Acres Homes.

Citizens Trust Bank is providing the development and construction financing, underscoring its commitment to increasing homeownership opportunities. The project aims to narrow the homeownership gap and promote community stability during a time of housing affordability challenges for working families in Houston.
