Chinese technology company 荣旗科技 has confirmed its participation in the testing of vapor chamber (VC) cooling systems for Apple's anticipated foldable smartphone. The company disclosed this information on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's interactive platform.

Apple is expected to launch its first foldable device, potentially named iPhone Duo, with an estimated starting price of $2,000. Reports suggest the phone will feature a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.8-inch internal screen, with a form factor described as short and wide, similar to a passport.

On the technical front, the device is rumored to be powered by the A20 Pro chip and Apple's own C2 cellular modem. The camera system is said to include wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses, but will omit a telephoto lens.

Structurally, Apple is reportedly employing a durable hinge mechanism and aims to minimize the screen crease, though it may not be entirely eliminated. The software is expected to automatically adjust application interfaces to suit the different screen sizes.

Initial production volumes are projected to be limited, which could lead to supply constraints and potential markups in the secondary market.
