Pasaca Capital founder Charles Huang receives honorary doctorate from University of Strathclyde

Charles Huang, founder and chairman of the California-based investment firm Pasaca Capital, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. The university recognized Huang for his international business career and his ongoing contributions to educational development and innovation.

Huang holds both an MBA and a PhD from Strathclyde. After completing his studies in 1994, he pursued a career in global investment and subsequently established Pasaca Capital in 2016. The firm’s portfolio currently spans several sectors, including life sciences, technology, and telecommunications.

The honorary degree follows a significant financial commitment to the university. In 2021, the Charles Huang Foundation donated £50 million to Strathclyde, marking the largest single gift in the institution's history. The funds have been directed toward the establishment of the Charles Huang Advanced Technology & Innovation Centre (CHATIC), as well as various scholarship and entrepreneurship programs.

During his visit to Glasgow, Huang observed the ongoing construction of the CHATIC facility, which is designed to provide infrastructure for collaborative research and startup development. The university noted that the funded initiatives have already supported a range of ventures, including projects in prosthetics and clinical health diagnostics.
