Patria and Germany sign over €2 billion contract for armored vehicles
Finnish company Patria and Germany have signed two contracts worth over 2 billion euros for up to 876 Patria 6x6 armored vehicles as part of the CAVS program. Deliveries are set to begin in 2026.

Finnish defense technology company Patria announced on December 18, 2025, that it has signed two serial procurement contracts with Germany valued at over 2 billion euros under the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme. These contracts involve the acquisition of up to 876 Patria 6x6 armored vehicles in multiple variants.
The firm order value exceeds 1 billion euros, with additional options included. The vehicles will feature different configurations, including those equipped with the Patria NEMO turreted mortar system and the Kongsberg RS4 remote control weapon system. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2026.
This agreement represents the largest single deal in Patria's history. As part of the deal, Patria will transfer technology to German industrial partners, including FFG, JWT, and KNDS. The first vehicles built entirely with local German production capabilities are expected in 2027, aiming to establish full local production capacity for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).
The CAVS programme is a multinational initiative currently comprising seven member nations: Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Patria leads the development of the 6x6 armored vehicle system within the program, leveraging its extensive experience in protected mobility and system integration. The initiative aims to enhance security of supply and interoperability among member nations through industrial cooperation.
