Patria and Germany Sign Series Contracts for Armoured Vehicles Worth Over EUR 2 Billion
Finnish company Patria and Germany have signed two series contracts valued at over EUR 2 billion for armoured vehicles within the CAVS program. The agreement covers the procurement of up to 876 vehicles.
Finnish defence company Patria and Germany have concluded two series procurement contracts related to the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program. The total value of these contracts exceeds EUR 2 billion, comprising a firm order worth over EUR 1 billion plus options.
The agreement includes the acquisition of up to 876 Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles in four different variants. Some vehicles will be equipped with the Patria NEMO mortar system and the Kongsberg RS4 remote-controlled weapon station. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2026.
The deal also involves technology transfer from Patria to German industrial partners FFG, JWT, and KNDS. The first armoured vehicles manufactured locally are set to be delivered in 2027, with the aim of establishing local production capacity to meet the future needs of the German Armed Forces.
Patria's President and CEO Esa Rautalinko stated that these contracts represent the largest single order in the company's history and establish the Patria 6x6 as a European standard. He highlighted Germany's trust as significant for multinational defence cooperation and ensuring supply security through industrial collaboration.
