Patria and KNDS strengthen cooperation on European CAVS 6x6 vehicle programme

Finnish defense company Patria and German KNDS Deutschland have bolstered their industrial cooperation under the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme. The partnership focuses on the development and production of common armored vehicles.

The companies met during a working visit in Freisen, Germany, to discuss the program's progress and their collaborative efforts. Discussions also included the potential opportunities the partnership could bring to the Saarland region with local authorities.

Attendees from Patria included Chairman of the Board of Directors Jyri Häkämies and Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area. Representing KNDS Deutschland were CEO Florian Hohenwarter and Christoph Cords, CEO of KNDS Deutschland Maintenance.

The CAVS program is a multi-national initiative aimed at standardizing and streamlining armored vehicle procurement and production across Europe. This enhanced cooperation seeks to bolster the European defense industry and its supply chains.
