Patria and KNDS to Produce CAVS Armoured Vehicles in Germany
Finnish company Patria and German KNDS have signed an agreement to assemble and integrate Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles in Germany.
Finnish defense company Patria and KNDS Deutschland Maintenance (KNDS) have signed a framework agreement for the assembly and final integration of Patria 6x6 armoured personnel carriers within the multinational Common Armoured Vehicles (CAVS) program. This collaboration is part of two procurement contracts awarded to Patria by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) in December 2025.
Patria is currently establishing German industrial capacity for the CAVS program, working with KNDS and other German industrial partners. The aim is to ensure local production capabilities and timely delivery for the German military.
Serial production for the Bundeswehr is scheduled to ramp up in early 2027. This move signifies a significant step in bolstering European defense manufacturing capabilities and ensuring the supply of critical armored vehicles for national defense.
