Patria and NestAI Partner on AI-Enabled Unmanned Aerial Systems for European Defence
Defence and technology company Patria and AI firm NestAI have formed a technology partnership to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled unmanned aerial systems for European defence forces.

Defence and technology company Patria has entered into a technology partnership with AI firm NestAI. The collaboration aims to bring artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled unmanned systems to European defence forces. The partnership combines Patria's drone platforms with NestAI's advanced AI operating system, NestOS, to enhance system capabilities in rapidly changing and contested environments.
European armed forces are increasing their investments in unmanned systems. Integrating effective and predictive AI is crucial for modern warfare. This collaboration brings together European industrial and technological expertise: Patria's understanding of unmanned systems and NestAI's adaptive AI capabilities.
Patria CEO Panu Routila stated that the partnership will make Patria's unmanned systems more intelligent and effective for operators. Peter Sarlin, founder and chairman of NestAI, highlighted the need for European, sovereign AI solutions for the modern battlefield.
NestAI focuses on developing adaptive AI for defence and security environments where systems must adapt to changing conditions in real time. Patria's unmanned systems offering is part of the company's Defence and Weapon Systems business area.
