Finnish defense company Patria and U.S. aerospace engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney have signed a Letter of Intent to deepen their existing long-term cooperation.

The agreement focuses on maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) logistics for F100 military jet engines, which power the F-16 and F-15 fighter jets. The companies aim to sustain and develop the current relationship to support global customers of these engines.

Patria intends to become part of Pratt & Whitney’s global sustainment network for F100 engines. A joint working group has been established to define a long-term cooperation strategy and agreement expected within 2022.

Patria has a history of collaboration with Pratt & Whitney spanning over 40 years. The company provides life cycle support, training, and technology solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors.
