Patria announces live firing exercises in Vattajaniemi
Defense company Patria has announced a temporary closure of its Vattajaniemi firing range in November 2026 for infantry weapons training. The range will be closed to the public during the exercise period.

Defense group Patria announced that it will conduct live firing exercises at the Vattajaniemi firing range in Lohtaja during early November 2026. The exercises, focusing on infantry weapons, are scheduled to take place daily between 08:00 and 17:00 from November 2 to November 6.
The firing range, approved by Metsähallitus (Metsähallitus), will be closed to the public during this period. The closure commences on November 1 at midnight and concludes on November 6 at 17:00. The designated danger area extends 12 kilometers from the range in a sector bordered by Lahdenkroopi to the west and Kalsonnokka to the northwest.
Patria regularly conducts various exercises for the Finnish Defence Forces and for its own product development and testing needs. These firing activities are part of the development of defense materials and ensure the functionality of equipment under demanding conditions.
