Patria Completes Nordic Drones and WithSecure Data Collection Acquisitions
Defense and aviation group Patria has secured regulatory approval for its acquisitions of drone manufacturer Nordic Drones and WithSecure's open source data collection technology. The transactions finalize on October 1.
Patria has received approval from the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy for two acquisitions: the purchase of Nordic Drones Oy and a data collection product and business from WithSecure Corporation. The regulatory process for both deals has now concluded.
Nordic Drones is described as a leading manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems. Patria announced its intention to acquire the company in June 2024. The second acquisition involves an open-source data collection product and related business from WithSecure, which falls under Patria's cyber business area, with the announcement made in September 2024.
These acquisitions are not expected to impact Patria's existing customer commitments, employment relationships, or other obligations. The transfer of the acquired businesses to Patria is scheduled for October 1, 2024.
Patria is an international provider of defense, security, and aviation life cycle support services, technology solutions, and pilot training. The company employs over 3,000 professionals and is owned by the Finnish State (50.1%) and Norway's Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (49.9%).
