Patria delivered first CAVS 6x6 armoured vehicles to Germany
Patria has delivered the first five CAVS 6x6 armoured vehicles to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The deliveries are part of the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme.
Helsinki – Patria has delivered the first five CAVS 6x6 armoured vehicles to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The handover took place in Zeithain, Germany, last week. The deliveries are part of two procurement contracts signed between Patria and Germany in December 2025.
According to Patria, the vehicles signify Germany's transition towards a modern, mobile armoured fleet. The company emphasizes the role of German industry partners FFG, JWT, and KNDS in ensuring the supply chain and readiness.
The CAVS programme is led by Finland and includes seven member nations: Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Within the program, vehicle development is led by Patria, which has over four decades of experience in developing and integrating protected transport systems. The program utilizes the local industry of member nations, enhancing the supply security of the entire cooperative system.
Patria has received orders and options for nearly 2,000 Patria 6x6 vehicles and has already delivered over 300. The program is open to new nations with similar equipment requirements, with the consent of the member states.
