Patria emphasizes security of supply as a component of sustainability
Defense company Patria highlights security of supply as a key element of sustainable business. The company is building disruption-resistant supply chains and safeguarding production continuity.

Defense manufacturer Patria has emphasized the significance of security of supply as an integral part of sustainable business practices. According to the company, in the critical defense industry, sustainability must also encompass ensuring societal security and the uninterrupted functioning of supply chains under all circumstances.
Johanna Arola, Patria's Vice President of Sustainability, stated that the company's resilience translates to security of supply in practice. "We are able to provide solutions and capabilities that enable our customers to operate in demanding conditions," Arola commented.
Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine has altered Europe's security landscape and underscored the importance of resilience. However, this is not a new theme for the defense industry, as ensuring operational capability has always been central to Patria's business. The company is focusing on aspects such as the disruption resistance of its supply chains and is actively seeking alternative sourcing channels to guarantee the availability of critical materials and components.
Strengthening Europe's domestic defense industrial capacity is a key objective. Patria is actively involved in multinational joint programs, including the CAVS program for armored vehicles and the FAMOUS program, which is developing next-generation tracked vehicles. These initiatives foster European industrial cooperation and technology transfer, thereby enhancing long-term security of supply.
Furthermore, Patria aims to bolster security through local production and assembly in collaboration with industry partners in customer countries. The transfer of technology and expertise supports local industries and creates employment. The company also offers long-term lifecycle services, encompassing maintenance, repair, and modernization of equipment, ensuring its operational readiness throughout its service life.
