Patria funds first mobile wax unit for Finnish national biathlon team
The Finnish biathlon team will utilize a custom-built service truck starting from the 2026–2027 season, backed by a long-term partnership with Patria.

For the 2026–2027 season, the Finnish national biathlon team is upgrading its logistics by introducing its first mobile service unit. Funded through a partnership with Patria, the specialized truck is designed to enhance the efficiency of ski preparation and support the team during the international World Cup tour.
The mobile unit is scheduled to debut at the season opener in Kontiolahti this November. By transitioning away from standard shipping containers, the team expects to reclaim significant time previously spent on setup and logistics. Head of waxing services Marek Sander stated that the facility provides improved space and mobility, allowing the technical team to focus entirely on ski performance.
Patria has supported the Finnish biathlon program since 2011. Communications Director Sirje Ahvenlampi-Hyvönen noted that the project reflects a shift toward more functional collaboration. Federation President Jaakko Puurula highlighted that the upgrade provides necessary improvements to working conditions in competitive environments, further supporting the athletes' preparation.
