Patria-led eALLIANCE secures additional funding for R&D expansion
The Patria-led eALLIANCE ecosystem has received new funding from Business Finland to scale up its R&D activities and integrate civil and defense technologies, targeting 300 million euros in combined research investments.
The eALLIANCE program, led by the Finnish defense company Patria, has received additional funding from Business Finland to expand its collaborative research and development efforts. The initiative brings together more than 60 technology companies, research institutes, and universities to foster cross-sector innovation.
The program aims to integrate technologies from civil, security, and defense sectors into functional solutions. The expansion includes two new work packages focusing on physical platforms and digital service business models. Projections suggest the funding will contribute to an increase of nearly 300 million euros in combined R&D investment within the program.
Patria’s Chief Technology Officer, Matti Saarikko, stated that the additional funding allows the company to scale the ecosystem and deepen international collaboration. Beyond domestic development, the program is intended to assist Finnish companies in accessing international defense markets.
Having operated for nearly two years, eALLIANCE has exceeded its initial targets for co-innovation projects. The current expansion is a response to strong demand for integrated, dual-use technological solutions.
