Patria Set for Technology Transfer to Lithuania in CAVS Programme

Defense and technology company Patria is set to transfer technology to Lithuania as part of the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program. Patria states it can provide a solution through the program that combines proven vehicle performance with long-term industrial and operational benefits for Lithuania.

Technology transfer is a core element of Patria's business model, aiming to enhance security of supply, strengthen Lithuania's domestic industry, and provide a strategic competitive advantage. The CAVS program is designed to leverage the strengths of each participating country's industry and foster close cross-border cooperation.

"The Patria team has already worked locally with Lithuanian industry for over a year, and the collaboration has been very positive and active. We are very pleased with Lithuania's decision to opt for the Patria 6x6 armored vehicle platform through potential participation in the CAVS programme," said Jussi Järvinen, Patria’s Executive Vice President of Protected Mobility.

The CAVS program was launched in 2020 through cooperation between Finland and Latvia. Its objective is to deliver a joint, modern 6x6 armored vehicle system based on the Patria 6x6 vehicle. Current participants include Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, and the UK. Vehicles have been delivered to several nations and are operational in Ukraine. The program remains open to European and NATO nations with comparable 6x6 armored vehicle requirements.
