Patria to deliver MUSCL passive radar system to European NATO member
Defense company Patria has signed an agreement to deliver its MUSCL passive radar system to an undisclosed European NATO member country. The contract strengthens Patria's position as a provider of surveillance capabilities.

Defense and technology company Patria will deliver its MUSCL passive radar system to an undisclosed European NATO member country, the company announced on Monday. The delivery includes several sensor stations, spare parts, and associated support and training services to ensure rapid operational deployment.
The Patria MUSCL is a transportable passive radar system that detects and tracks aerial targets in real time by utilizing existing transmissions in the surrounding electromagnetic environment. The system provides military operators with enhanced situational awareness and supports air surveillance, early warning, and counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) missions without revealing its own position.
Patria has over 30 years of experience in the design, development, and delivery of passive radio frequency sensor systems for intelligence, surveillance, and electronic countermeasures domains. The company states that the demand for passive radar technologies is growing across Europe as armed forces strengthen their air defense and security capabilities.
The company will demonstrate the MUSCL system alongside its CATCHR ESM system at the EW Live event in Estonia in September 2026. The systems will provide real-time situational awareness of the airspace over Estonia and southern Finland without transmitting any signals themselves.
